Como Shambhala Spa at Kandooma Resort in the Maldives

On 1st June 2008, the holistic health company COMO Shambhala will open its first consultancy spa at Kandooma in the Maldives.

Kandooma, under management of HPL, is a natural match for COMO Shambhala, offering a fresh, informal and friendly Maldivian experience to its guests. The resort comprises 160 villas and several spectacular high-domed buildings containing the reception and restaurant complexes. Watersports and spa facilities are at the heart of the resort’s activity offering.

In line with COMO Shambhala’s philosophy of holistic wellness, the spa at Kandooma has been conceptualised as a place of rejuvenation in an unspoilt environment. Handpicked therapists will guarantee a meaningful wellness experience to all guests.

The treatment menu offers a wide range of Asian-inspired therapies, many of which have been conceived at COMO Shambhala Retreat in Parrot Cay (Turks and Caicos) and the company’s flagship, COMO Shambhala Estate at Begawan Giri in Bali. Signature treatments include COMO Shambhala’s most popular massage using nurturing blended oils.

Six single treatment rooms overlook Kandooma’s lush landscaping. Two deluxe treatment villas are available to those seeking the utmost privacy for their treatments. There is a state-of-the-art gym, changing rooms with separate male and female steam rooms and a communal hydro pool for jet-powered massages.

Kandooma’s COMO Shambhala boutique is filled with hair and body products, massage oils, accessories and COMO Shambhala’s popular Active Living clothing collection.

COMO Shambhala is part of the COMO Group, which represents Christina Ong’s unique vision of contemporary living. The group encompasses Club 21, the international fashion retailer, COMO Hotels and Resorts, which is the hospitality collection with properties in London, the Caribbean, Bhutan, Bali, Thailand and the Maldives, and the COMO Foundation representing the group’s philanthropic interests throughout the developing world.
