Bandos is one of the first generation resort in Maldives. But the resort has been refurbished few times and last it was refurbished on 2005. When you enter Bandos, you see a 3 angle jetty and jetty is connected direct to the front office. Means Reception is 20 feet away from jetty. There is a good lobby area near Reception with comfortable chairs. Next to reception lobby you see anothe lobby and infront of the lobby there is a beautiful Souvenir Shop. Rooms
Bandos have five catagories of rooms. Standard. Deluxe, Garden Villa, Beach Villa and Water Villa. Standard rooms are situated infront of beach behind the vegetation. Means its not on the beach but near the beach. and palm trees and some plants are there between rooms and beach. Standard Rooms are small, and comes with double bed or twin bed. And can accomodate extra bed too. All bandos rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, also TV, phone and mini bar. Standard rooms comes with a block of 4. means rooms are not single bungalows. Deluxe rooms also comes with blocks. Before renovation Bandos treated deluxe rooms as Junior Suites or Suites. It has spacious living area and a spacious bed room. Some rooms comes with 4 poster bed. It has also very nice bath room with Bath Tub and bidet. Garden Villa are situated near swiming pool area. and Garden villas are all wooden rooms. Garden villas are small in size so dont recommend for 3 people. but very good for 2 person. there is a 4 poster bed and nice view to the swiming pool. Beach Villa is very new and is good for couple who want effordable luxury and privacy. Beach villas are built on bungalow style and built on two deck. Bed room is on upstairs and living area and bath room is on the ground. There is a nice jacuzzi fitted on the open air bath room. There are only Two Water villas in Bandos. And is expensive but fantastic for those who can efford it. It is very spacious, nice bed room, nice bath room and direct access to the sea. Restaurants:
Bandos have many outlets and out of them Sea Breeze Cafe and Sun Downers are good. Sea Breeze Cafe offers many dishes including Asian and Maldivian dishes. Sundowners are also called beach bar. it is a bar plux also a coffee shop where you can oder food. The buffet is served on Gallery Restaurant and it is situated near the main bar. or Sand Bar. Other
Bandos is an average resort but with good service and very good staffs. Bandos also offers many facilities and lot of excursions. and There is a very beautiful small desert island called Kuda Bandos near Bandos. Guests can visit there using daily ferries with a small charge. Bandos rooms are also ok for the price they offer. and Beach villas are very good. Bandos also offers few entertainment during night time. including live music, dj (good) and majic shows. Bandos also have many sports inluding, gym, squash, badminton, tennis, sauna, steam bath etc. Conclusion: Bandos is worth for money for the holiday makers who want to stay in a everage nice beautiful resort with friendly staffs. and who want to get access to many facilities, diving, sports and etc. |
